FEBRUARY 2024 NEWSLETTER

THANKS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS: OUR MAKE A BAG EVENT WAS A TREMENDOUS SUCCESS!

We were absolutely blown away by the enthusiasm and productivity of the volunteers who attended our Make a Bag - Save a Life event on January 11th! Together with their amazing help, we assembled approximately 2,800 bags. The best part of all was we met new friends who are driven like we are about saving lives.  Many of our volunteers for this event came from the group training sessions we held at two area churches and from the homes we visited this summer. We are grateful for volunteers -- with their help we reach more people with life-saving Naloxone.

We train local organizations how to administer Naloxone and about the Good Samaritan Law

In January, Mobilize Recovery visited the Lighthouse Soup Kitchen and the Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter, both in Waterville, Maine, to train people with Naloxone. If your organization or business is interested in scheduling a training, please contact Jon Reynolds at Jon@MobilizeRecovery.org.

WE COULD USE YOUR HELP AS A VOLUNTEER. To continue this critical, life-saving work and further reduce the of preventable overdoses in Kennebec County, we welcome more volunteers. If you're interested in joining us, please click on the button below.

YOUTH Caucuses Make a Positive Impact!

In our last newsletter, we announced that our Youth Caucuses of Kennebec, Penobscot and Washington County were awarded the Youth Service Grants from Volunteer Maine. The youth wasted no time in getting right to work. They learned about the 'beloved community' philosophy of Martin Luther King Jr. and based their projects to carry out one or more of the twin pillars, social justice and equality, that support this concept. All projects will be imagined, directed and led by the youth because this is how our Youth Caucuses operate.
