ME-RAP Youth Caucus!
Recovery in Maine: Youth Voices.
In the summer of 2022, ME-RAP Youth Organizers came together to create a powerful short film about prevention, healing, and hope. Every young person featured in the film is part of the recovery community—whether they are in recovery themselves, love someone who is, or have lost someone to overdose.
The film follows youth organizers as they prepare to testify at the Maine State House and speak out at Governor Mills' Opioid Response Summit, bravely sharing their stories and calling for change.
Created by youth for youth, this film is more than a message—it’s a movement. It calls on communities to take prevention seriously, to equip young people with life-saving tools like Naloxone, and to make prevention efforts engaging, empowering, and even fun.
Special thanks to filmmaker allies, Alexandra Morrow, Alexander Sutula, Ashley Kotzur, Lamia Lazrak, Nick Haquin, Pete Morse, Riss Bickford, and Tadin Brown As well as Gordon Smith, Governor Mills Office for Opioid Response, Points North Institute, Sarah Erwin, Sean Flynn, and Senator Matthew Pouliot.
