Naloxone Training
(Adult & Youth Led)
This training provides essential knowledge and hands-on practice for administering naloxone (Narcan) to reverse opioid overdose. Participants will learn:
- The signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose.
- How to administer naloxone safely an effectively.
- The legal protections under Maine's Good Samaritan Law for those assisting in an overdose situation.
- How to access naloxone kits and distribute them within the community.
We provide training that is either adult or youth led. Youth led training is provided by young people, ages 12-18, who have developed a youth specific curriculum for other young people.
Advocacy 101
A foundational training for individuals interested in becoming advocates for recovery-friendly policies and practices. Topics include:
- Understanding the legislative process and how to influence policy.
- Storytelling for impact - how to use personal experiences to advocate for change.
- Engaging with policymakers, media, and community stakeholders.
- Grassroots organizing strategies to mobilize support for recovery initiatives.
advocacy 101 for medical professionals
A foundational training for medical professionals interested in becoming advocates for recovery-friendly policies and practices that benefit their patients and clients. Topics include:
- Understanding the legislative process and how to influence policy.
- Expertise for impact - how to use medical expertise and professional experience to advocate for change.
- Engaging with policymakers, media and community stakeholders.

RECOVERY language 101
This training focuses on the importance of using person-centered, stigma-free language when discussing addiction and recovery. Participants will learn:
- The impact of language on individuals in recovery and public perception.
- Best practices for using non-stigmatizing language in conversations, media, and advocacy.
- How shifting language can contribute to more inclusive and supportive recovery environments.


Employment & recovery
The Employment Workshop is designed to help participants build job readiness skills, explore career opportunities, and connect with employment resources, which include:
- Resume Building & Cover Letters: Guidance on creating compelling resumes and cover letters tailored to different job sectors.
- Interview Preparation: Mock interviews, common questions, and techniques for success.
- Job Search Strategies: How to use online job boards, networking, and community resources effectively.
- Workplace Readiness: Professional communication, time management, and workplace etiquette.
- Guest Speakers: Local employers, career coaches, and workforce development professionals may participate to provide insights and potential job opportunities.
